A post-production schedule that moves with the edit.
Here’s how a documentary team could run post on Kapcal, from assembly to delivery. The film, names and dates are made up; any project with phases and deadlines works the same way.
A category for each kind of work
Edit, VFX, Colour, Sound & Mix and Deliverables, plus Suites for room bookings and Meetings. Each keeps its colour on every view.
A project for each film
The documentary and the series sit side by side on one board; hide one to focus on the other.
Phases and tracks
The Edit phase holds the assembly, the rough cut review and picture lock. Picture and Sound run as their own tracks on the timeline.
Picture lock as a milestone
Colour, VFX and the sound edit follow picture lock. If the cut runs long, they move with it, to the next working day.
A delivery date that doesn’t move
Lock the delivery date. If the mix would run into it, Kapcal says so straight away, before anyone misses it.
Room bookings
Suite 1 and Suite 2 are categories too: show just one to see who’s in it this month.
Each team sees its part
The picture team, the sound team and the broadcaster each get a saved view; the broadcaster’s is a read-only link.
In step with the crew’s tools
Editors keep their Asana tasks and the producer keeps Outlook; the dates stay in step both ways.
Not in post?
